Edward Murphy and Theresa Murphy are available for mediation of all family law related matters, including large scale full divorce related mediation to small post decree joint parenting issues. Mediation is the process whereby each party jointly meets with the mediator to attempt joint and amicable resolution of the relevant divorce related issues. It can be anywhere from three hours of simple mediation to numerous hours of mediation, depending on the issues involved and the ability of the parties to cooperate with each other in reaching a satisfactory resolution of the issues. The cost for mediation is usually substantially less than a full blown divorce action. Mediation fees are based on a fee rate of $150.00 per hour, with a minimum time of three hours of mediation. Fees are paid with each party paying one-half of the mediation costs and expenses. Mediation has proven to be a cost effective mechanism as an alternative dispute resolution approach.
